Gardens don't just need hard-landscaping, and planting, they need minibeasts, mammals and birds to help them thrive!
Birds are welcome visitors to our gardens and are most definitely the gardener's friend. They help rid the lawn of weeds, they control pesky pests, help with flower pollination and are relaxing to watch.
The RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch takes place on 26-28th January 2024. The Big Garden Bird Watch helps the RSPB monitor the UK's wild bird populations, which have declined by a massive 38 million in the last 50 years. Factors such as climate change and habitat destruction have had a huge impact on our wild birds, so this research is important for understanding how our birds are faring.
